The Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference Gathers Industry Experts to Tackle Challenges in Affordable Housing

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) will host the first Kentucky Affordable Housing Conference in two years Wednesday, September 21, and Thursday, September 22, at the Galt House in Louisville. The previous two conferences were canceled due to COVID-19.
The conference covers all aspects of affordable housing ranging from mortgage production and homeless services to single-family and multifamily development, attracting lenders, builders, developers, and nonprofit organizations throughout Kentucky. Topics will include recent disasters, COVID-19, social media messaging, mental health during times of crisis, and improving access to homeownership by making credit more accessible, eliminating bias in appraisals, and enhancing diversity and representation in the industry.
“Kentuckians have braved incredible hardships over the past two years — tornadoes, flooding, and the spread of COVID-19,” said Winston Miller, KHC executive director and chief executive officer. “All of these intensify the housing crisis, making our work ever more important. These conferences not only give us a space to share best practices in affordable housing solutions but also energize us for the work ahead.”
