House Appropriations Subcommittee Advances FY27 HUD Funding Bill

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies met today to mark up the Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. The subcommittee voted to advance the bill to the House Appropriations Committee, which is scheduled to vote on it on June 4. The bill would provide the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development $71.377 billion in discretionary funding, which would be a $5.942 billion or nearly eight percent decrease from fiscal year 2026 enacted levels.

House Passes Housing Bill; White House Expresses Support

A strong bipartisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives earlier today passed a revised version of a comprehensive affordable housing package โ€” the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (H.R. 6644) โ€” shortly after House leaders and the White House agreed to amendments to the version released in the House last week. The legislation contains more than 40 affordable housing bills, including several NCSHA priorities.
