Milagro Fisher

Milagro Fisher (Mila) serves as an affordable housing specialist in the Office of Affordable Housing Programs. She brings more than 19 years of affordable housing and community development experience working on the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and the Housing Trust Fund. Mila believes that everyone deserves to live in a safe and affordable home.

In 2004, Mila joined HUD through the Presidential Management Fellows Program and has focused her career on developing policy and operational guidance for the effective implementation of HUD programs. She currently serves on HUD working groups focused on rental alignment, income reviews and eligibility determinations and the implementation of the HOME-ARP program. She also advises on technical assistance requests to help build HUD grantee capacity.

Mila is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland where she received her B.A. in Sociology and a Master’s in Community Planning. Mila is proud of her Coast Guard family, enjoys the outdoors with her husband and two young kids. She and her retired Coastie husband are raising a bi-lingual family in her native hometown of Washington, D.C.
