Debbie Herrera

Debbie Herrera proudly serves as Director of Human Resources for Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). She has over 25 years of experience in human resources with 15 years of experience in strategic planning. In her role at CHFA, Debbie leads initiatives that foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), innovation, and wellness, in addition to co-leading the organization’s strategic planning efforts.

Throughout her career, Debbie has shown a commitment to leading with a values-based mindset that is centered on creating an environment where everyone can thrive. Prior to joining CHFA, she worked for organizations who serve the mortgage, finance, and healthcare industry. In addition, Debbie serves on the board of trustees for Warren Village, and the board of directors for Hope Communities and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of North Florida. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Denver program and NCSHA Executive Leadership program.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Debbie relocated for the second time to Colorado in October of 2001. She is the proud mother of two teenage daughters.
