Candace Maupins

Candace Maupins joined the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) in 2011 to support their mission to strengthen communities and the lives of Missourians through the financing, development and preservation of affordable housing.

For over fourteen years, Candace has served as the Program Compliance Administrator for MHDC’s Asset Management Department. The primary objectives of the Asset Management Department are to preserve and protect the Commission’s affordable housing portfolio by conducting physical inspections, analyzing property financial performance, resolving resident concerns, and monitoring required regulatory compliance.

Before joining the affordable housing industry, Ms. Maupins was a skilled community builder and a successful fundraiser, proposal writer and special event planner with over twenty years of experience in those arenas.

Candace earned the Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) designation from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and is a member of the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA). Additional credentials include Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Certified Occupancy Specialist Advanced (COSA) from the National Center for Housing Management (NCHM).

Ms. Maupins achieved a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Avila University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in African American Studies from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
