Ashish Kumar

Ashish Kumar is the Chief Information Officer at the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA), where he leads enterprise-wide technology strategy and innovation to support affordable housing across the state. Before stepping into the CIO role, Ashish served as CalHFA’s Chief Information Security Officer, where he established a strong cybersecurity foundation and governance framework that continues to support the agency’s security resilience.

With over 15 years of public sector IT leadership and more than 20 years of overall IT experience, Ashish is known for driving digital transformation, modernizing legacy systems, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful, mission-aligned solutions. He will be presenting CalHFA’s IT Innovation entry at the 2025 HFA Annual Conference, showcasing the agency’s forward-thinking approach to technology in housing finance.

Ashish holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Security Systems and an Associate of Science in Computer Network Systems, along with multiple industry certifications in technology. His academic and professional credentials reflect a deep commitment to continuous learning and excellence in the public sector.
