Brittany Francis

Brittany Francis, Ph.D. is an experienced communication professional with expertise spanning public relations, media relations, speech writing, outreach and engagement, and education policy. As a manager at Emergent Method, she works with a number of the firmโ€™s public and private sector clients to develop comprehensive communication campaigns, craft creative and impactful content, and support strategic planning to improve organizational performance, programs, and initiatives.

Before joining Emergent Method, Brittany served as the communications director for Complete College America, where she led public outreach and media relations, managed the organizationโ€™s branding and messaging strategy, and supported the communications needs for the organizationโ€™s large-scale projects. Her other career experience includes serving as the public information & communications director for the Louisiana Board of Regents, where she oversaw statewide higher education and K-12 communications, coordinated strategic initiatives to strengthen the visibility of Louisianaโ€™s colleges and universities, and directed media relations, crisis communications, and policy-driven campaigns. She also held a variety of public relations and administrative roles within the private sector.

Brittany is a graduate of Georgia State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism; Kent State University, where she earned her Master of Arts in Public Relations; and Southern University and A&M College, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy with a concentration in education policy.
