Suzanne Marcus

Suzanne Marcus (she/her) is the Housing and Gender-Based Violence Specialist at Cloudburst. Suzanne has more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of gender-based violence, housing, and homelessness and is the co-founder of the largest safe housing program for survivors in the District of Columbia. She served in key leadership roles providing national-level training and TA. Through the Domestic Violence and Housing Technical Assistance Consortium (DVHTAC) (a federal interagency initiative, funded in part by HUD), she worked on strategies to address the housing needs of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking on the federal, state, and local levels including clarifying and implementing VAWA housing protections for HUD, HHS and DOJ grantees. She worked with communities to help improve coordination between homeless/housing and victim service systems and developed tools and guidance to promote the implementation of survivor-centered, safe housing models, including flexible funding and permanent supportive housing for survivors.
