Maria Fernandez

Maria Fernandez is currently the Senior Associate Director for the Office of Housing and Regulatory Policy (OHRP) at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). The Office of Housing and Regulatory Policy is responsible for FHFA’s policy determinations involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s single family businesses. The Office serves as the agency’s focal point for the analysis and development of single family mission-related policy. OHRP has helped initiate several industry changing endeavors, including the Uniform Mortgage Data Program; HARP and its successor high-LTV refi program; Servicing Alignment Initiative; Neighborhood Stabilization Initiative, the Selling Rep and Warrant Framework, and the Mortgage Translations clearing house. Maria serves as FHFA’s Executive Representative to the Appraisal Subcommittee. More recently, Maria and her team have focused on the aligning the Enterprises’ single family COVID policies in response to the pandemic.
