Scott Thistle

Scott Thistle has been the Communications Director for MaineHousing since November 2021. Scott is a former newspaper reporter and editor with more than 25 years of experience in Maine and Minnesota. Prior to arriving at MaineHousing, Scott worked at the Maine Legislature as the State House Bureau Chief for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, the state’s largest newspaper. He is a Maine native who grew up in Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties and is a long-serving volunteer with the National Ski Patrol. He is also the director of training for the Lost Valley Patrol, in Auburn, Maine. Scott is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served tours of duty in the United Kingdom, and at the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland. Scott lives in Auburn, Maine, with Amy, his wife, and his two sons, Finnegan and Kai. And their perfect yellow Labrador retriever, Goldilocks.
