Mary Tingerthal

Mary Tingerthal served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency from 2011 to 2019. For the past five years, she has led the Tingerthal Group LLC, which provides consulting services to public and private organizations working to increase the availability and sustainability of housing that is affordable to low and moderate-income families.

Clients include Abt Global, National Housing Trust (NHT), McKnight Foundation, Minnesota Homeownership Center and Greater Minnesota Housing Fund. Recent projects include: a report (Sept. 2023) for the National Council of State Housing Agencies on opportunities for state housing agencies to utilize new federal energy resources; and an assessment (Sept. 2023) for NHT of the multifamily energy lending capabilities of 18 state housing agencies.

Mary previously served as President and CEO of the National Equity Fund, and as a Managing Director for GMAC Residential Funding. Mary held senior management positions with the Housing Partnership Network, Community Reinvestment Fund, and the City of Saint Paul.
