Michael Neal

Michael Neal is a Senior Fellow in the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute. Mr. Neal’s work intersecting racial equity and homeownership has assessed the challenges associated with accessing homeownership, benefiting from it as well as passing wealth down to future generations. His work has been cited by major news outlets, government entities as well as private sector organizations.

Neal also served as a JPMorgan Chase Fellow and is a member of the National Bureau of Economic Research Race and Stratification Working Group. He also serves on the technical data advisory committee for the Black Wealth Data Center.

Mr. Neal has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Morehouse College and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also studied finance at Princeton University and economics at the University of Oxford.
