Melanie Benjamin Reappointed to Minnesota Housing Board
Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan announced the reappointment of Melanie Benjamin, Onamia, to the Minnesota Housing Board of Directors. Benjamin first joined the board in 2019; her four-year term expires January 1, 2029.

Department of Public Service Announces $22 Million Subaward to VHFA for Solar for All Program
The Vermont Department of Public Service has announced a $22 million subaward with Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) as part of the federal Solar for All Program (SFA). This funding represents over a third of Vermont's $62.45 million federal grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will support affordable housing solar initiatives across the state.

House Tax Bill Would Expand Housing Credit, Lower Bond Financing Test, Facilitate Production in Rural and Native American Areas
This afternoon, the House Ways and Means Committee released text of the tax portion of the major 2025 reconciliation bill Republicans are drafting to enact much of President Trump’s agenda, including extensions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions set to expire at the end of 2025, initially enacted in the president’s first term in office. In a major victory for NCSHA and our affordable housing advocacy partners, the bill includes a major expansion of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, incorporating several of the key provisions designed to increase the supply of rental housing from the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act.
Georgia Awards $13.8 Million In 2025 Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) Funds
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has awarded over $13.8 million in grant funds to fifteen local communities around the state through the DCA 2025 Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP). The CHIP funds are provided through an annual allocation of HOME Investment Program funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
