The Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) has awarded 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) allocations to two additional affordable housing developments in Omaha, expanding the total 2026 investment to more than $14 million in tax credits and $100 million in tax-exempt bond financing.

House of Representatives Passes Affordable Housing Package
An overwhelming bipartisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives Monday evening voted to pass comprehensive affordable housing legislation that includes more than 20 different housing-related bills. The legislation, titled the Housing for the 21st Century Act (H.R. 6644), is the first substantial bipartisan housing bill to clear the House in more than a decade. It is the product of months of negotiations between Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-AR), Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D-CA), Housing Subcommittee Chair Mike Flood (R-NE), and Ranking Member Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).
