MaineHousing Issues $11 Million in Early Heating Assistance Help

MaineHousing Thursday announced it has released $11 million in Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) benefits. This funding is being released nearly a month ahead of the typical HEAP schedule allowing fuel vendors across the state to deliver heating assistance quickly to 10,814 eligible households including nearly 17,000 people.

FHFA Announces Elimination of GSE Upfront Fees for HFA Loans, Other Affordable Mortgages

The Federal Housing Finance Agency announced this week that government sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will soon eliminate upfront fees for single-family mortgage loans assisting low- and moderate-income home buyers, including Fannie Mae HFA Preferred and Freddie Mac HFA Advantage loans. The GSEs will increase fees for most cash-out refinance loans.

Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the Maryland Board of Public Works approved a contract of up to $30 million for the Office of Statewide Broadband to provide  laptops to underserved households in order to help address the digital divide. Financing is Complete for 1599 Columbus Avenue in Boston, Where 65 New Affordable Apartment Homes Will Be Constructed as Part of the Jackson Square Redevelopment 

Today, MassHousing, the City of Boston, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), and Urban Edge, announced the completion of financing for the 65-unit, 1599 Columbus Avenue in Boston, which is part of Jackson Square Redevelopment. All 65 units at the new building will be affordable to lower-income residents.
