Statewide Homeless Count to Be Conducted

The Point-In-Time homeless count is an important source of annual data, providing characteristics of people who are experiencing homelessness. Data from the annual PIT homeless count is used to measure homelessness on local, state, and national levels.

Governor Hogan Announces Enhanced Benefits for Utility and Electric Assistance to Address Rise in Heating Costs

Governor Larry Hogan today announced that, to address the rise in heating costs, recipients of the stateโ€™s utility and electric assistance will receive enhanced benefits during this home heating season. The state is also increasing funding for weatherization assistance programs to improve energy conservation.

Ken Pulido Joins VHFA as Director of Energy Finance

Executive Director Maura Collins announced that VHFA has selected Ken Pulido (he/him) of South Burlington in the newly created role of Director of Energy Finance. Pulido has a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Irvine and an MBA from Stanford University.

Governor Hochul Announces Nearly $1 Billion in Financing for Affordable Housing

The developments will leverage an additional $379 million in private funding to create an overall investment of nearly $1.4 billion to further local economic development efforts, reduce homelessness, and advance New York's commitment to expanding safe, secure and healthy housing opportunities for individuals and families.

Landlord Incentive Program Continues in 2022

Today MaineHousing is announcing it will make up to $750,000 in funding from the state Housing Opportunity for Maine (HOME) Fund available to continue its partnership with the stateโ€™s public housing authorities for its statewide Landlord Participation Incentive Program.

DCHFA Finances the Agencyโ€™s First Affordable Housing Development of 2022

DCHFA has started the new year by financing the rehabilitation of Cascade Park Apartments. On January 7, 2022, the Agency issued $11.1 million in tax exempt bonds for the acquisition and rehabilitation of 59 of the units (two buildings) at the Ward 8 property. โ€œClosing a deal for an affordable housing transaction is a great way to begin the new year. This is the first of many developments that the Agencyโ€™s multifamily team is working to fund to create and preserve beautiful, healthy affordable housing.

Financing to Create and Preserve Affordable Multi-Family Housing in Conway, Manchester & Nashua Approved by New Hampshire Housing Board

Financing for four affordable multi-family rental housing developments which will provide a total of 232 units was approved by the New Hampshire Housing Board of Directors at its December meeting. Once constructed, this housing will help meet the critical need to build and preserve affordable rental housing for our stateโ€™s workforce and other residents.ย 

Wolf Administration Launches $350 Million PA Homeowner Assistance Fund

Today,ย Governor Tom Wolf announced the statewide launch of the Pennsylvania Homeowner Assistance Fund, or PAHAF, administered by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. PHFAโ€™s plan for administration of the PAHAF has been approved by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. PAHAF applications will open to eligible Pennsylvania homeowners beginning February 1.ย 

Governor McKee, RI Office of Energy Resources and RIHousing Announce Zero-Energy Housing Awards

Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee, the Office of Energy Resources (OER) and RIHousing announced today the award of funds to develop highly energy efficient housing for low- and moderate-income Rhode Islanders. The demonstration program, Zero Energy for the Ocean State (ZEOS), is the result of a public-sector partnership between OER, RIHousing, and National Grid to explore innovative, replicable solutions to utilize cost saving, clean energy technologies in homes.
