MassHousing Announces $10 Million in CommonWealth Builder Funding to Create New Homeownership Opportunities for Moderate-Income, First-Time Homebuyers in Barnstableโ€ฏ

MassHousing has provided $10 million in CommonWealth Builder financing to the non-profit Housing Assistance of Cape Cod for the development of Cornerstone Homes in Hyannis, which will deliver 46 new condominium units for purchase by moderate-income, first-time homebuyers and four units that will be used for rental housing.ย 

Georgia Designates Seven New Communities as Rural Zones

The cities of Alma, Barnesville, Blairsville, Elberton, Folkston, Grantville, and Summerville will be designated as Georgiaโ€™s newest Rural Zones on January 1, 2026. This new designation establishes a host of incentives to benefit commerce in each city through December 31, 2030.ย 

An Innovative Approach Pairs Tax Credits and Manufactured Homes

Nearly 50 affordable manufactured homes, known collectively as Dorsey Homes, are filling vacant lots around Petersburgโ€™s Delectable Heights neighborhood. The development marks the first time Virginia Housing has supported the development of manufactured housing by allocating Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to be used to finance construction.
