PHFA Issues RFP to Fund Mixed-Use Development Projects

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency today is issuing a Request for Proposals for new construction, or the rehabilitation, of mixed-use projects seeking financial support. Funding will be provided through the Community Revitalization Fund Program. Mixed-use projects combine residential and retail/commercial space in the same building and often serve as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization. The deadline for proposal submission is 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.

DCHFA Finances Construction of 108 Senior Apartments on Historic Barry Farm’s Site

Theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) has issued $33.7 million in tax exempt bonds for the construction of 108 apartments in Ward 8โ€™s Barry Farm neighborhood. All units at this mixed-income development recently named The Asberry will be reserved for seniors age 55 or older.

The MassHousing financing will allow The Neighborhood Developers to transform a former light industrial site at 25 Sixth Street in Chelsea into 62 new mixed-income rental and homeownership units, located on the MBTAโ€™s Silver Line near Bellingham Square.

WHEDA Foundation Extends 2022 Housing Grant Deadline to Sept. 15

Governor Hogan Announces Marylandโ€™s State Small Business Credit Initiative Programs Now Open

Governor Larry Hogan today announced Maryland programs funded by the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) are open. Up to $198 million in federal small business relief is being administered by three state agencies: the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), the Maryland Department of Commerce, and the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO). These agencies will use funds to expand and enhance nine existing state business lending and investment programs.
