Iowa Finance Authority Nationally Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

DES MOINES, IA ā€“ The Government Finance Officers Association recently awarded the Iowa Finance Authority with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its fiscal year 2017 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

ā€œThe attainment of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting represents a significant accomplishment,ā€ said Iowa Finance Authority Interim Executive Director Carolann Jensen. ā€œThis award is a tribute to the excellence in financial management and reporting by our staff on behalf of Iowans.ā€

The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a major professional association servicing the needs of nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and finance practitioners. It provides top quality publications, training programs, services and products designed to enhance the skills and performance of those responsible for government finance policy and management.
