Executive Director Tiena Johnson Hall Confirmed by the California State Senate

It’s official! California Housing Finance Agency Executive Director Tiena Johnson Hall was confirmed by the California State Senate during Monday’s Floor Session.
Johnson Hall has been leading the Agency since being appointed in August by Governor Gavin Newsom, and previously spent seven years as a member of CalHFA’s Board of Directors.
This confirmation by the full Senate comes after the Senate Rules Committee voted unanimously to confirm at the end of her April 20th hearing.
At that hearing, Johnson Hall spoke about her vision for CalHFA, which is exemplified by the Agency’s new mission statement: Investing in diverse communities with financing programs that help more Californians have a place to call home.
She also detailed her personal and professional experiences that have prepared her to take on this important role.
Johnson Hall credits her experience living in affordable housing as well as buying her first home as two transformational events that have helped her and her family attain security and success. Her background in community development banking, and stints in public service and as a nonprofit housing developer, provide the tools she needs to help CalHFA continue its recent success.
