FRANKFORT, KY — Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), the state housing finance agency, has announced the selection of Edwin King as its new executive director. In July 2017, Mr. King will succeed Executive Director Kathryn Peters, who has served KHC and the state of Kentucky for over 30 years.
Edwin King was appointed as chief of staff for the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet in December 2015, under the leadership of Secretary William M. Landrum III and Governor Matt Bevin.
”Edwin’s experience and leadership has served Kentuckians well,” said Kentucky Finance Cabinet Secretary, William M. Upon leaving the Senate, he served in fixed income investigations for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in D.C.
More recently, Mr. King has worked as Vice President of Strategic Planning for McD Concrete Enterprises in Erlanger, KY, and as Director of Finance and Operations for Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside Park, KY, where he led capital planning, financing, and construction efforts in a multi-campus expansion. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University, where he taught courses on corporate financial management, international finance, and financial regulation.
Mr. King received his graduate degree in finance from the University of Maryland and undergraduate degree in business administration from Murray State University.
”We are pleased to announce this appointment for Kentucky Housing Corporation,” said KHC Board of Directors Chair, William Summers, V. ”Edwin has a breadth of perspective and experience on finance and regulations and he will continue leading KHC as one of the top housing finance agencies in the nation.”
”It has been an honor to serve Governor Bevin and Secretary Landrum as chief of staff at the Kentucky Finance Cabinet. This is a pivotal time in Kentucky and I look forward to the opportunity to lead the state’s housing finance agency,” said Edwin King. ”KHC has pursued significant organizational improvements over the past several years, and I look forward to continuing the mission of investing in affordable housing solutions for families and communities across the Commonwealth.”
