CHFA to Host Build For CT Informational Seminar in New London

(ROCKY HILL, Conn.) – October 15, 2025 – The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) is hosting an informational seminar on the Build For CT program on November 5, 2025, from 10am to 12pm, at the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT at 92 Eugene O’Neill Drive in New London.
The event will bring together members of the developer community and financial institutions to learn about Build For CT, a statewide financing program designed to increase the supply of housing affordable to Connecticut’s middle-income workforce.
Created by the Department of Housing and administered by CHFA, Build For CT provides gap financing of up to $125,000 per unit for market-rate developers who commit to reserving at least 20% of units for middle-income renters – teachers, nurses, first responders, and others who earn too much to qualify for traditional affordable housing but struggle to afford market rents.
To date, Build For CT has supported nearly 2,700 new rental homes statewide, including more than 700 reserved for middle-income households, demonstrating how public-private partnerships can help bridge the housing affordability gap and move developments from planning to construction.
Representatives from CHFA and DOH will outline program details, eligibility requirements, and upcoming funding opportunities. The session will also highlight the role of private lenders, who play a critical part in ensuring Build For CT-funded developments move forward efficiently.
Developers, builders, lenders, and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to attend. Registration is required as space is limited. To register, visit info.chfa.org/B4CT Seminar or contact Isabel Diaz at Isabel.diaz@chfa.org for more information.
