Frankfort, Kentucky — Kenzie Strubank, assistant director of Homeless Programs at Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), will serve as a plenary speaker at the 2025 Innovations and Solutions for Ending Unsheltered Homelessness Conference February 26–28 in Los Angeles, California.

The conference is a premier event for the homeless services sector to discuss strategies and innovations for ending unsheltered homelessness. In recent years, KHC and the Kentucky Balance of State Continuum of Care (KY BoS CoC) have secured funding through highly competitive funds to deploy Street Outreach teams throughout the KY BoS; created a Housing Connector team to connect people experiencing homelessness to the Housing Choice Voucher program; and provided extensive expert-led training and leadership events for KY BoS providers and partners.

Strubank has worked to form partnerships throughout the state and across state borders, creating an alliance with the West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness to end rural homelessness in Appalachia. Strubank also co-founded the annual Summit to End Rural Homelessness, an intensive training week for homeless service providers. The Summit offers CoC members the opportunity to learn from experts in field as well as to discuss best practices with each other.

“I am deeply honored and sincerely humbled by this incredible opportunity to highlight the resolve and innovation of the KY BoS,” said Strubank, “and I look forward to connecting with hundreds of innovators in our sector. We are at a critical moment in our field. With homelessness on the rise nationwide, a devastating shortage of housing supply and vital federal resources in jeopardy, we as system leaders and service providers need one another now more than ever.”

Strubank’s plenary session will be at 11:30 a.m. PT Thursday, February 27. She will share the stage with Ann Oliva, chief executive officer of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, and several other housing experts to discuss their experiences implementing evidence-based strategies to reduce unsheltered homelessness at the community level.

She also will lead a session at 2:30 p.m. PT Wednesday, February 26, to discuss how the KY BoS CoC uses Coordinated Entry to address unsheltered homelessness.
