Laura Bailey, Managing Vice President of Community Development Finance, is responsible for Capital One’s loan and investment originations in support of community development. Together with the co-manager of Community Development Finance, she designed the business plan and built the team and client base to begin the group in 2006.
Since that time, Community Development Finance has grown to provide more than $1.3 billion in new capital each year, making more than 9,000 new units of affordable housing possible. Under the name “Investing for Good” Capital One also provides support for resident programs at signature developments.
Before joining Capital One, Laura’s experience included serving as Regional Executive, Community Development Banking at Bank of America, as Vice President, Corporate Banking at JPMorgan Chase, and Vice President, Community Development Banking, JPMorgan Chase.
Laura is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Affordable Housing Council and a board member of Houston ULI. She currently serves on the board of AHIC, the national organization for investors in low-income housing tax credits.
Ms. Bailey earned concurrent degrees in Finance from the Wharton School and in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and son.
