Jo Ikelheimer
Jo has over 30 years of professional experience in the affordable housing industry. She has worked on the regional, state and national levels, which includes Public Housing Authority, State Housing Finance Agency and national housing training/consulting experience. She has served as a Public Housing Manager, a Section 8 Occupancy Specialist, a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Compliance Monitor, and a Development Officer for Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, HOME, and State Housing Trust Fund properties. As Vice President of Compliance Programs for NCHM, she was responsible for all of the National Center for Housing Managementās LIHTC occupancy training and consulting for many years. In this capacity, she was the author and lead trainer of NCHMās Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), TCS Advanced and Blended Occupancy Specialist (BOS) courses as well as assisting with development, maintenance and training of all other NCHM occupancy-related courses to include Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Certified Voucher Specialist (CVS) among others. Jo has stepped down into semi-retirement in the past year, but still authors and teaches compliance courses in addition to providing consulting services and speaking at industry conferences and events.
Prior to joining NCHM, Jo served in both compliance and development positions with the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. She holds a Bachelorās degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masterās degree in Public Administration from Appalachian State University. She lives in Asheville, NC with her husband, daughters and an assortment of pets.
