Barbara Wallace

As AHFA’s multifamily manager, Barbara Wallace processes Housing Credit, HOME, Housing Trust Fund applications from reservation to final allocation. She closely monitors potential and existing developments, visits project sites, and personally reviews and analyzes proposals for economic feasibility and compliance with federal, state and AHFA requirements.

Ms. Wallace has been nationally recognized by the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing for her contributions to the affordable housing industry and has served on the governor’s committee to improve affordable housing in Alabama’s Black Belt counties. In addition, she has been designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a HOME-Certified Program Specialist and was inducted into the HFA Hall of Fame in recognition of 20+ years of service in the housing credit industry.

Ms. Wallace joined AHFA in 1989 after a 12-year career in banking, which included experience in real estate and commercial lending.
