Jim Yates has over 27 years of experience in affordable and permanent supportive housing development for vulnerable populations. Jim provides TA and consultation to community organizations and state and local governments regarding the development and financing of permanent supportive housing for low-income disabled persons and other vulnerable populations. He is also a nationally recognized expert in the US Department of Veterans Affairs health care system and programs serving homeless veterans and other “veterans in need.” Jim recently retired as a Colonel in the Army National Guard. He performed three overseas deployments in key leadership positions supporting a peace enforcement mission in Bosnia and two combat tours in Afghanistan.
