Minnesota Housing | Rental Rehabilitation Deferred Loan, Rural Development RFP

The program was designed to address the needs of modest-sized rural buildings, generally containing between 12-30 units total, that have not competed well for other state resources such as low income housing tax credits. Recently, Minnesota Housing streamlined the RRDL program and launched a special request for proposals (RFP) in partnership with the local USDA office to focus specifically on the preservation of USDA RD projects with RD 515 mortgages and rental assistance.

Georgia Department of Community Affairs/Georgia Housing and Finance Authority | Pipeline Administration – Improving Oversight from Construction to Compliance

DCA has implemented a new staff role: The Pipeline Administrator. This position acts as a liaison, shepherding developments from final construction into compliance. The role tracks developments near construction completion and creates a Welcome Package for each development, outlining compliance expectations and listing key development commitments in an attractive, succinct format. This position serves as a key contact for development partners and provides a clear transition process internally.

It includes a replicable toolkit for use in asset management and emergency preparedness.

South Dakota Housing Development Authority | SDHDA DakotaPlex

Rural communities are an essential part of America. They are known for their neighborliness, goodwill & being part of something that is bigger than onself. But one thing common to rural areas is the ability to develop affordable housing. Leaders face limited financial, technical & staff resources to develop needed housing. After hearing repeatedly the need, SDHDA decided to use the benefits of the successful Governor’s House Program & apply them to rental housing. Thus, the DakotaPlex was born.

New York City Housing Development Corporation | Financing Mixed-Income Developments (Forward Securitization and M2 Program)

HDC’s Forward Securitization Tool and M2 Program work together in the creation of mixed income developments that help to ensure income diverse neighborhoods. HDC adapted an innovative forward securitization strategy that creates cost-effective future lending capacity. All units created via the M2 program are required to be affordable with a blend of low-, moderate-, and middle-income level units.
