Congress Passes Continuing Resolution to Keep Government Running Until March 11

On February 17, the Senate passed a continuing resolution (CR) funding the federal government through March 11, giving Congress more time to finalize Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations bills.

WHEDA and CSH Welcome Teams for the Inaugural Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and CSH announced that seven teams will participate in the inaugural 2022 Wisconsin Supportive Housing Institute. The teams include diverse professionals from across the state. All groups will create a plan to develop affordable housing with access to supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Governor Murphy Announces Foreclosure Prevention Funding to Support New Jersey Communities and Residents

Today, Governor Phil Murphy announced that $10 million in funding from the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) will be allocated to support New Jerseyā€™s Foreclosure Prevention Act (P.L. 2021, c.34) program administered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA). NJHMFA will use these funds to stabilize communities through supportive homeowner interventions and vacancy rehabilitation and sale, stemming the loss of single-family homes to rental property investment firms.

MaineHousing Tuesday welcomed four new members to its Board of Commissioners including newly appointed board chairman Frank Oā€™Hara. Appointed by Gov. Public Notice to Qualified Homebuyers Kentucky Housing Corporation 2022 Mortgage Credit Certificate Program

The Kentucky Housing Corporation ("KHC") proposes to implement a program (the "Program") to provide Mortgage Credit Certificates ("MCCs") to residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky (the "Commonwealth") who purchase new or existing residences within the Commonwealth. An MCC reduces the amount of income tax a qualified homeowner pays by providing a non-refundable, federal tax credit during the life of a mortgage loan. After all other credits and deductions are taken into account, the value of the MCC is applied directly to a homeowner's remaining tax liability.

New Strategy to Reduce and End Homelessness Moves Forward with Hub Contracts
