WHEDA Awards $31.9 Million In Federal And State Housing Tax Credits
The award of $31.9 million in federal and state tax credits will advance housing opportunity and economic recovery in Wisconsin through creation of 2,039 affordable housing units in the months ahead, Gov. Tony Evers announced Tuesday. The state and federal housing tax credit awards by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) support housing developments in 23 communities statewide and cap a highly competitive process that drew requests totaling $61 million.
Single-Family Housing Rehab Program Grants Approved
The North Dakota Industrial Commission approved an allocation of almost $200,000 today through Helping Housing Across North Dakota (HAND). The program addresses the housing rehab needs of lower-income individuals and families by providing grants to targeted community programs. North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) administers the program.
DCHFA Finances Affordable Housing in Wards 2 and 4
Theย District of Columbia Housing Finance Agencyย (DCHFA) is partnering with SOME (So Other Might Eat) by financing affordable housing in Wards 2 and 4. On April 24th, DCHFA issued $17.3 million in tax exempt bonds and underwrote $10.2 million in low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) equity for the acquisition and rehabilitation of Anna Cooper House in Ward 2 and Building 17 on the campus of the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Ward 4.

DSHA Pauses Delaware Housing Assistance Program to Manage Volume, Assess Available Resources
Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) is temporarily pausing application submissions for the Delaware Housing Assistance Program (DE HAP). Pausing the program will allow DSHA to explore how resources from the federal government and others may be used in the coming weeks to continue the program and respond to the ongoing high demand for assistance. It will also allow DSHA staff and community partners to process the more than 5,000 applications that have been received since the program launched on March 26.

MassHousingย has closed on $1.3ย million in affordable workforce housingย financing toย Austin Street Partners LLC, for the new, 68-unit 28 Austin Street in Newton, which offers 23 workforce housing apartments for lower- and moderate-income households.ย The recently completed 28 Austin Street development is aย public-private partnership betweenย Austin Street Partners, a joint venture of Dinosaur Capital Partnersย andย Oaktree Development,ย and the City of Newton.

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority is seeking public comment on proposed changes to its tax credit distribution plan, including changes that would increase the positive economic, social and environmental impact of affordable housing projects while improving the competitiveness of rural developments.

DSHA Announces $9 Million in Funding Available for Downtown Development District Project Rebates
Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) is accepting applications through June 1 for large project rebate reservations through the Downtown Development Districts (DDD) program. Investors who make qualified real property investments in one of 12 designated districts can apply for a rebate of up to 20 percent of eligible costs. The designated districts are: Clayton, Delaware City, Dover, Georgetown, Harrington, Laurel, Middletown, Milford, the City of New Castle, Seaford, Smyrna and Wilmington.
