LHC Releases Draft QAP for Public Comment

Public hearing set for Tuesday, April 3 in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, LA ā€“ Today, the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) released a draft of the 2018 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) for public comment. The QAP is a federally mandated state plan used to allocate housing credits for the development, acquisition, and rehabilitation of affordable rental properties.

A public hearing on the draft 2018 QAP will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. in the V. Jean Butler Boardroom located at 2415 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. Interested parties may submit written comments via e-mail to qapcomments@lhc.la.gov.

LHC Executive Director Keith Cunningham, Jr. said the 2018 QAP aims to address Louisianaā€™s most pressing housing priorities by focusing on policy concerns, improving the application process, and incentivizing viable projects.

ā€œThis year we took a hard look at simplifying the process and creating a structure that tackles the previous issues within the QAP,ā€ said Cunningham. ā€œWhile we used a combination of industry best practices and lessons learned over the years, we are eager to receive feedback from the developer community as we continue to improve our processes.ā€

Additionally, LHC will host two workshops to help prospective applicants gain a better understanding of the process, program changes, requirements, and opportunities.Ā Both workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon V. Jean Butler Boardroom.
