BATON ROUGE, LA ā Today, the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) released a draft of the 2018 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) for public comment. The QAP is a federally mandated state plan used to allocate housing credits for the development, acquisition, and rehabilitation of affordable rental properties.
A public hearing on the draft 2018 QAP will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. in the V. Jean Butler Boardroom located at 2415 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. Interested parties may submit written comments via e-mail to qapcomments@lhc.la.gov.
LHC Executive Director Keith Cunningham, Jr. said the 2018 QAP aims to address Louisianaās most pressing housing priorities by focusing on policy concerns, improving the application process, and incentivizing viable projects.
āThis year we took a hard look at simplifying the process and creating a structure that tackles the previous issues within the QAP,ā said Cunningham. āWhile we used a combination of industry best practices and lessons learned over the years, we are eager to receive feedback from the developer community as we continue to improve our processes.ā
Additionally, LHC will host two workshops to help prospective applicants gain a better understanding of the process, program changes, requirements, and opportunities.Ā Both workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon V. Jean Butler Boardroom.
