Partners Celebrate Groundbreaking for Renovations at Providence Housing Developments
PROVIDENCE, RI – On Wednesday, February 21 at 11:00 am, Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI 1st District) and Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza will join RIHousing and nonprofit developer Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) along with supporters and residents at a ceremonial groundbreaking for renovations to take place at Oxford Place and Oxford Gardens affordable housing.
Both developments were awarded funding from Rhode Island’s Pilot Housing Preservation and Production Program (HPPP) and are among the first developments to begin work under this new funding source. The HPPP was proposed by Governor Raimondo and approved by the General Assembly as part of the state’s FY2016 budget. Known as Oxford Gardens and Oxford Place, these developments comprise a total of 128 apartments for seniors and families.
