Funding Available for Emergency Shelter and Homelessness Prevention

PIERRE, SD ā€“ South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) is inviting nonprofits and units of local government to submit applications for funding from the Emergency Solutions Grants program.

The Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, provides financing for short-term and medium-term rental assistance and services to stabilize and rapidly re-house individuals and households who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Funds are available annually and are awarded by SDHDA through an application process. The ESG program allocation plan and application can be found on SDHDAā€™s website at www.sdhda.org. Complete applications must be received at SDHDA on Thursday, May 31, by 5 p.m. Central Time.
