As the regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, Sandra Thompson, acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, shares her vision for how the conventional mortgage finance system can and must do more to expand affordable housing opportunity, especially for borrowers of color, and opportunities for HFAs to expand their work with the housing GSEs. Following Thompson’s remarks, NCSHA recognizes the recipients of the 2021 Awards for Program Excellence — the highest honors in state housing finance.
