Idaho Housing and Finance Association

(BOISE) Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) recently won several awards from the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). The creation of the Home Partnership Foundation won an award for Administrative Innovation. The Home Partnership Foundation is the state’s only housing foundation dedicated to helping people build a strong foundation for their lives through stable, safe, and affordable housing. Learn more about its mission at www.homepartnershipfoundation.org, or follow the Foundation on Facebook.

IHFA also won the Community Revitalization Award for Excellence for the Whitman Hotel. This mixed-use development, developed by The Housing Company (THC), revitalized an historic building in downtown Pocatello, and created 25 apartments for individuals and families who meet income eligibility requirements. THC is dedicated to preserving Idaho’s existing affordable housing stock, facilitating development of new housing in under-served areas throughout Idaho, and providing quality professional property management for developments in its portfolio.

Both of these award applications will now be forwarded to National NAHRO for consideration of the Annual National Awards of Merit presented this summer. The purpose of NAHRO is to be the leading housing and community development advocate for the provision of adequate and affordable housing and strong, viable communities for all Americans, particularly those with low- and moderate-incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of its members.
