    District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency
    DC HFA: Closes Its 2nd Multi –Deal Transaction Under The Obama Administration’s New Issue Bond Program

    On August 19th, the DC Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) closed its second multiple-deal escrow release under the Obama Administration’s New Issue Bond Program (NIBP), making it the first HFA in the country to do so. Additionally, this transaction resulted in another first for the Agency as it closed its first ever mixed-use, 80/20 (mixed-income) transaction.

    Tennessee Included in Latest Round of Hardest Hit Funding
    The U.S. Treasury is expanding the Hardest Hit Fund to help unemployed and underemployed homeowners meet their mortgage obligations. Tennessee has been allocated $81.1 million dollars for the program which is administered by housing finance agencies.

    Delaware SHA Provides Incentives to Create More New and Accesible Affordable Housing Units

    Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) is pleased to announce that 335 affordable housing units will be created and/or preserved thanks to awards being made through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. The 2010 LIHTC Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) included incentives for developers to construct fully accessible units, as well as a new category to encourage developers to build new units that will add 83 affordable apartments to the statewide inventory.

    North Carolina HFA: State to Gain $229 Million in Affordable Apartments

    North Carolina will gain $229 million in affordable rental apartments as the result of federal tax credits approved this week by the Tax Reform Allocation Committee and loans from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.

    Georgia DCA: Stimulus Project Comes On Line Providing Housing for the Elderly

    Georgia Department of Community Affairs and Commissioner Mike Beatty announce the first of the stimulus projects to come on line. Last week, Antigua Place Phase II located in Moultrie became the first stimulus project to receive the certificates of occupancy for the 40 unit project reserved for the elderly. By receiving the certificates of occupancy, the project may be occupied for everyday use.
