    Delaware State Housing Authority
    DSHA Announces the Recipients of More than $2.2 Million in Community Development Block Grants and HOME Funds

    The Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) today announced that 19 communities and scattered sites will receive funds from the state’s Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). More than $2.2 million in funding will be divided amongst the municipalities of Kent and Sussex Counties for housing rehabilitation, water/sewer hookups, demolition, street repair, storm water drainage and administration.

    Ohio Housing Finance Agency Awards Over $19 Million in Tax Credits for Affordable Housing in Ohio

    The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) today announced the 2010 Housing Tax Credit Program recipients who will each receive a portion $19.2 million in housing tax credits for the acquisition, development and rehabilitation of affordable housing units in Ohio. Funding was awarded to 27 developments in various target and geographic pools in 19 of Ohio's counties.

    Today, Maryland’s new Foreclosure Mediation law will take effect, giving mortgage challenged homeowners another tool to help them save their homes. The program aims to give homeowners more time and a better opportunity to work with their lender, help qualified borrowers get relief through a loan modification and provide an independent party to help both sides come to a resolution.

    The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) announced today the groundbreaking for a 70-unit development dedicated to serving Californians with mental illness and their families in the Hollywood area. Villas at Gower is made possible through the work of A Community of Friends, the developer.

    WHEDA Announces $500,000 in Housing Grants Statewide

    The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) announced today that the WHEDA Foundation, Inc. is awarding $500,000 in housing grants to 49 special‐needs housing providers throughout the state. These grants, awarded during WHEDA’s annual Housing Grant Program competition, will help housing providers build new facilities or make improvements to their existing facilities.

    CalHFA Announces Grand Opening of Sunflower Gardens Apartments to Provide Housing Options for Californians

    The California Housing Finance Agency announced today the grand opening of the Sunflower Gardens Apartments in Monterey County. The Sunflower Gardens complex, located at 29 Sun Street in Salinas, will provide housing to 23 low-income adults with psychiatric disabilities who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Residents will receive support services on site.

    The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) announced today that the U.S. Treasury Department has approved the Agency’s plan to use nearly $700 million in federal funding to help California families struggling to pay their mortgages.
