Andrew and Cindy Kopp were able to purchase their new home in Glassboro, New Jersey thanks to the help of the Live Where You Work (LWYW) Homebuyer Program offered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. The LWYW Program is a mortgage incentive program that provides low-interest mortgage loans to first-time homebuyers and homebuyers purchasing homes in towns where they are employed.

The goal of LWYW is to build stronger communities by promoting homeownership and encouraging people to live closer to their jobs. This, in turn, will reduce the need for cars and increase the use of greener alternative transportation.

“We are committed to Glassboro and committed to the jobs that we have. We wanted to not just live close to work, but in a neighborhood where other colleagues live. We can walk to work in about 20 minutes or ride my bike in five minutes.  We knew that we wanted to live where we work. Quite honestly, if either one of us were commuting somewhere it would be a dramatic difference in terms of the quantity and quality of time with our children.”
