Yesterday, Senate Finance Committee member Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) introduced the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Recovery Act, S. 3141, to provide a five-year carryback of Housing Credits for existing and future Credit investments, one of NCSHA’s Housing Bond and Credit priorities.  Five other Finance Committee members are original cosponsors:  John Kerry (D-MA), Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Charles Schumer (D-NY), and Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

This bill may be included in a small business jobs tax bill the Senate Finance Committee plans to develop over the next few weeks.  It is not likely to advance as a stand-alone bill.
