U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan today awarded $441,397 to support four new local homeless programs in South Dakota. This funding provides critically needed emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent support for individuals and families and is a significant part of the Obama Administration's strategic plan to prevent and end homelessness.

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority’s recent social media campaign, “Click to Fight Hunger” was a resounding success! As a result of the online campaign, the agency will donate more than 500 canned food items to the New Hampshire Food Bank; weighing- in at over 350 pounds, the food will help restore the Food Bank’s inventory after the high-demand holiday season.

Six Delaware emergency and transitional shelters for the homeless received a financial boost from the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) to continue to bring needed services to the homeless in lower Delaware.

Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) Director Anas Ben Addi announced that the state has partnered with several nonprofit organizations throughout Delaware to help residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with nearly $935,000 in funding made available through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA). Homeless Prevention Services are available to provide assistance and case management to persons who are at imminent risk of homelessness. Additionally, Rapid Re-Housing services are also available to provide assistance and case management to persons who are currently homeless. These resources include; rental assistance (future and arrearage payments), utility assistance (future and arrearage payments), and security and utility deposits for qualified applicants who meet federal criteria.
